Obituary of Marc A. Eglin

Marc A. Eglin passed away August 4, 2023 in Niagara Hospice House.  Born September 15, 1949 in Lockport he was the son of Emil and Norma (Zent) Eglin.  Marc retired in 2009 after 38 years from Delphi Thermal Systems as a purchaser.  He traveled all over the world buying aluminum and made several very close friends along the way.  He served on the YMCA board, Shelridge Country Club and Tuscarora Club Board of Directors. He was Vice President of the Lockport Hockey Club and a member of Clinton Club and Klub 60. Marc was an avid golfer, jogger and racquetball player. He was a horse race enthusiast starting back before his Canisius College days up until this past year’s Kentucky Derby. He enjoyed boating, water and snow skiing and hours at the beach. Marc taught his children important lessons in life, along with how to golf, ski, fish and boogie board, and he spent vacations doing those activities with his children and grandchildren. He had a knack for entertaining co-workers, friends and family with poems and songs for birthdays, retirements and other special occasions. He wrote over sixty of them.

Marc is survived by his wife of 50 years Nancy (Miller) Eglin; children Kerri (Todd) Mitchell, Nicholas (Amanda) Eglin, and Stephen Eglin; grandchildren Addison, Cailin, Aubrey, Norah, and Lucie; brother Paul (Deborah) Eglin; also several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents Marc was also predeceased by his brother James Eglin.

Marc felt passionate about donating his brain to the Mayo Clinic to help further research of this rare disease in hopes to help others.
