Obituary of Dorothy Winters

Dorothy J. Winters passed away June 15, 2023 in Niagara Hospice House.  Born June 2, 1937 in Lockport she was the daughter of Ronald and Eleanor (Olschke) Hillman.  Dorothy was a bookkeeper, working for Winters Feed, Chapman’s Market and Hartland Central Cemetery from which she retired in 2021.  She was very proud to have been picked for girls state in her junior years of high school.  Dorothy volunteered for the food pantry in Middleport and enjoyed gardening, playing euchre, loved going to the casino, and was an avid NY Yankee’s fan.  She also served as past president of the Hartland Fire Company Auxiliary for several years.  Above all family was her greatest joy, she loved spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 63 years Darvin Winters; children Connie (Joe) Fink and Joel (Vicky) Winters; grandchildren Tiffany (Mark) Gallipeau, Joey (Casey) Fink, Sandra Lackner, and Craig Lackner; four great grandchildren; sister Edith Ames.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 19th from 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20th at 11 AM.  Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
