Obituary of Hervey Mead

Hervey A. Mead passed away August 31, 2009 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born March 4, 1935 in Sunderlandville, PA he was the son of the late Claire and Alma (Churchill) Mead. Hervey served in the US Marine Corp. during the Korean War as a demolition expert. He was the Quality Assurance Manager for Jones Chemical in LeRoy, NY for over 30 years retiring in 1997.
Hervey is survived by his wife of 20 years Margaret "Peggy" (Volina) Mead of Lockport; father of Michael (Kellianne) Mead and Kristin (Tim) Thompson both of New Hampshire; step-father of Anne Chudy of Rochester, Christine Jaworowicz of Lancaster, John (Jay) Chudy of Rochester and Jim (Stephanie) O'Green of LeRoy, NY; also survived by ten grandchildren; brother of Emmet (late Jane), Larry (late Joyce), Bill (late Luanne) Mead, Kitty (Jerry) Patton and the late Gerald, Jack (late Ruth), Nina and Chuck Mead; brother-in-law of Frances and Beverly Mead all of PA; also survived several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 AM in Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 5441 Tonawanda Creek Road.
