I have so many amazing memories of Mamie but my absolute favorite ones are the ones we made during summer time. I always remember going over to the house swimming in the pool, watching tv on the deck, then the ice cream man coming and Mamie rushing out with money to get us all ice cream. I remember all the sleepovers we had and the times we would bake together. I always enjoyed going to church on Sundays with her and Pa to hear Pa preach, she had a beautiful singing voice. When I was in elementary/middle school she would chaperone my school field trips and even when I was homeschooled her and Pa would take us on field trips, I enjoyed our many trips to Viddlers! As we got older our time together consisted more of sitting in her bedroom, watching old westerns and catching up on life together. No matter what we did together I just enjoyed my time with her. She was the most generous and selfless person I know and I’m so blessed I was able to call her my Mamie.

When I was a shy 17-year-old in the church choir, it was Faith who suggested that I sing a solo, "I'll Walk with God." That began the growth of my joy in creating vocal music in church including choirs, choir festivals, holiday services, weddings, and memorial services. Thank you, Faith, for your faith in me. Our daughter continues the tradition in the Rocky Mountain Chorale in Boulder.
