Robert W. Smith, age 78, of the Town of Lockport, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  He was born in Lockport, NY to the late George and Edna Mae (nee Baker) Smith.  Robert had been employed as Vice President for Merrill Lynch Investment Company in Buffalo, NY for over 25 years.  He was a member of the Merrill Lynch Chairman’s Club, Niagara River Anglers Association, Bass Anglers Sportsman Society, and the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.  Robert’s hobbies included fishing, singing and recording, travel, and spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his fiancé Carolyn D’Addario, his former wife, Susan G. (Pless) Pax, three daughters, Brenda S. Angelucci, Anita (Brian) Humphreys, and Alycia (Mike) Tomaino, four grandchildren, Lauren R. (Kris) Dunaway, Tyler Tomaino, Nathan Tomaino, and Matthew Angelucci; his great-grandchildren, Ella and Nolan Dunaway, one sister Barbara Jean (late Delziel) LeBere; and is also survived by his niece Debra (LeBere) Porter, and nephews Kevin and Brian LeBere.
