Barbara R. Marotta, beloved wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, entered into rest on May 20, 2011 after a brave and valiant battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was 72 years old. Born August 21, 1938 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Oscar T. and Lorine (Dorin) Hahn. Her husband of 41 years, Bruno Marotta Jr., predeceased her in June 2001. Barb worked for Drs. Lee, Muscato and Dusinberre for several years as a Medical Secretary. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing cards. Spending time with family was her favorite past time. , , ; Barbara leaves behind four children, Bruno Marotta, III, Victoria (Michael) Haenle both of Lockport, Christopher Marotta of Naugatuck, CT. and Valerie Yehl of Penfield, NY; grandchildren Meghan, Christopher, Derek, Kelly Jo, Mitchell, Matthew, Melissa, Michelle, and Michael; several great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She is the sister Anne Schobzian and the late Oscar Hahn, Mary Lupo and William Hahn; loving in-laws: Mary Hahn, Mary Haney, and John (Patricia) Marotta. Barbara also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may call Monday afternoon 4 to 8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock in St. Joseph's Church, 391 Market Street, Lockport, NY. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Barbara's family welcomes donations to the National MS Society-Upstate New York Chapter, 1650 South Avenue, Suite 100, Rochester, NY 14520 and to the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Nursing and Rehabilitation, 104 Old Niagara Road, Lockport, NY 14094.
