Obituary of Gwendolyn P. Lockie

Gwendolyn P. Lockie, of Lockport, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

Gwen was born in Lockport, NY to Viola (Flecksenhaar) and Laurence Pearl on July 24, 1926.  She graduated from Lockport High School in 1944 and went to work at Harrison Radiator in the engineering department, where she met her future husband, Robert.

Gwen was involved in the Lockport Power Squadron, Niagara County Assessor’s Association, The Family Seminar Mother’s Club, Lockport Chapter #73-Order of the Eastern Star,  and Grace Episcopal Church.  She and her husband, Bob, enjoyed spending time with their family, boating on the Great Lakes, winters in Florida, and travelling the world.

Gwen is survived by her son, Russell (Melissa) Lockie, her daughter, Donna Brash (Mark Quackenbush), and her son-in-law, Alan Sutton.  She is also survived by grandsons Warren (Amy) Gardner, Joe (Melissa) Brash, Anthony Brash (Laura Korpel), Ryan (Kim) Lockie, Darryl (Bethany) Lockie, and Phillip (Brittany) Sutton.  Gwen also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Lockie, and her daughter, Karen A. Sutton.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 16 from 4-7 pm, at Prudden and Kandt, Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, NY 14094.  At 7:00 p.m., Gwen will be memorialized by the members of the Order of the Eastern Star.  Funeral services will be held at Prudden and Kandt on Tuesday, January 17 at 11:00.  Donations are gratefully appreciated to Heathwood Assisted Living and Memory Care, 815 Hopkins Rd., Williamsville, NY or Hospice of Buffalo, to whom the family extends their deepest gratitude.
