Obituary of Sharon Black

Sharon L. Black passed away November 15, 2022 at home in the care of her family. Born August 10, 1941 in Akron, NY she was the daughter of Lawrence and Dorothy (Miles) DeFries. Sharon was a secretary at Ford Gum and a lunch monitor in the Lockport School District. She also was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Lockport where she was a nursery school teacher.  She was also a member of the South Lockport Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening. She served as a Girl Scout leader and a 4-H leader. Sharon was predeceased by her husband Charles Black on September 1, 2020.

Sharon is survived by her daughters Debora (Jeffrey) Lasal and Betsy Black; grandchildren Kaitlyn and Christian Lasal; brothers Harvey (Karen) DeFries, Duane (Sally) DeFries, and B. Scott DeFries; in-law Robert (Millie) Black; also several nieces and nephews.
