Obituary of David W. Stein, Sr.
David W. Stein, Sr., 74, of Pendleton passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 29, 2022 after courageously battling a serious illness. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 plus years, Barbara “Red” (Highlands), his much adored children Jennifer (Craig) Beiter, David Jr. (Jill), his cherished grandchildren Joshua, Anna, Mara, Luke, and Lily, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
He was the only child of Willis and Dorothy (Petersen) born on April 20, 1948. After graduating from Starpoint Central High School, Dave served as a radarman in the U.S. Navy and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He went on to work for Harrisons/Delphi until retiring in 2001. He had a passion for golf, hunting, the outdoors, friends, his farm, family, and attending his grandchildren’s activities. Dave was a proud member of VFW2535, American Legion, Pendleton Veterans Club, Brauers Euchre Team, USS Yorktown CV-10 Association, and volunteered his grilling skills to the Pendleton Lions Club, Wendelville Fire Hall, and Niagara County Sheriff’s Foundation.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, October 9th from 3-7 pm at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home 242 Genesee Street, Lockport NY. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Oct 10, 2022 at Prudden and Kandt to be followed by a celebration of Dave’s life at the Pendleton Creek Golf Club 4385 Tonawanda Creek Road, North Tonawanda. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to USS Yorktown Foundation or any Veterans’ organization.
