Obituary of Ida P. Covell

Ida P. Covell passed away September 19, 2022 in Buffalo General Medical Center.  Born July 30, 1938 in Lockport she is the daughter of William E. and Violet (Burrows) Crawshaw and foster daughter of Emily & George Ewald.  Ida worked at First Niagara Bank for 25 years where she was a manger retiring in 2000.  She was a member of the YWCA 29 & Holding, volunteer with the American Red Cross, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a Ladies Aid.  Ida was a life member of South Lockport Ladies Auxiliary holding many offices and was a member of the Niagara County, WNY, and state Ladies Auxiliary.  She was always willing to help others.  Ida was predeceased by her husband Robert H. Covell on June 10, 2014 and son James R. Covell.

Ida is survived by her three sons Daniel (Tina), Douglas (Melanie), and Michael Covell; granddaughter Hannah Covell; brothers Robert (Pat) Crawshaw and William (Ruth) Crawshaw; in-laws Peter (Janice) Covell, Margo (late Paul) Covell and the late Rodney (late Marilyn) Covell and Millie Crashaw; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, Sept. 25^th from 1-4 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 26^th at 11 AM.  Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations to Trinity Lutheran Church, 67 Saxton St., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
