Obituary of Glorian Bald
Glorian Mae (Belchner) Bald passed away on August 5, 2022. Born in Ransomville on May 3, 1931, she was the daughter of Herman and Alice (Sievert) Belchner. Glorian was a Lockport High School graduate in 1948 with honors and attended Buffalo State Teacher’s College for two years. From college she took a job as a recording secretary in the Niagara County Judge and Surrogate’s Office. After starting her family, Glorian chose to stay at home to raise her six children while sometimes taking part-time work. When her children were much older she landed a job at Diversified Manufacturing as a purchasing secretary and bookkeeping recorder from which she eventually took an early retirement. Her interests and talents were varied. She will always be remembered by her children and stepchildren for choosing unique Christmas gifts for each one of them (usually handmade) and for preparing and serving a beautiful Christmas Eve buffet. She enjoyed reading, creative writing, gardening, home decorating, the Buffalo Bills, unicorn collecting and word seek puzzles. She and her late husband did much traveling. They took their 34 ft. sailboat on an interesting adventure through canal locks and ocean to Florida, living aboard the entire nine months they were gone. They also traveled in tourist groups to European countries including England, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and Switzerland. She was happily married to her beloved Gordon for nearly 40 years and they were devoted to each other completely for all those years.
