Obituary of Albert Strianese

Albert “Al” E. Strianese born December 12, 1953, was raised on the West Side of Buffalo, NY, entered into heaven on August 1, 2022 in the care of hospice and loved ones.  Al was the son of the late Albert “Big Al” and late Mary (D’Anna) Strianese, also predeceased by his brother Norman “Stormin’ Norman” and brother-in-law Peter Diakakis. 

Al is survived by his only son, Anthony Strianese; sisters Carolyn Diakakis and Theresa Strianese; longtime friend Grace Gregory and her daughter Jillian Benton (Sawyer); also several dear friends.

Al was known all over both Erie and Niagara Counties for his professional and knowledgeable customer care in local pro shops and bowling centers.  He started bowling at a young age with the great like, John Massiello, Tommy Baker, Ang Ciminelli, and Stan Cielepak.  Bowling ten 300 games in his career, Al came up fast and left his mark in the bowling community and the hearts of many.  Al enjoyed going to the casino to just hang out with friends.  He was also a home team man, enjoying watching both the Buffalo Sabres and Bills, and the NY Yankees with his son, Anthony.  “GO YANKEES!”

Al was known to his friends as a loyal and honest man with a good heart.  He always put the happiness and wellbeing of family even before himself, often going without basic necessities.  Al will be missed.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
