Obituary of Vera Mack
Vera L. Payne Mack passed away June 20, 2022. Born April 16, 1940 in Lockport she was the daughter of George Payne and Glenada VanCleaf. Vera was a Licensed Practical Nurse working at Deaconess Hospital. She helped bring a union to Odd Fellows and along with Mary Wooten this union still exists. Vera was also a certified phlebotomist preforming lead screening in Buffalo. She was also a nurse for People Inc and a private duty nurse as well.
Vera is survived by her siblings Sylvia (Joe) Speight, George Payne Jr., Joseph Payne, Andre Payne, Julie Payne, and Anderson Davis. She is also survived by her special nieces and caregivers Sylvia Bell, Noelle Riley, Darlene Riley, and Arionna Lyons. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and their families. She was predeceased by her other siblings Dolores Rountree, Adah (Henry) Bailey, Clara Payne, Betty Bell, Wylie Womack, and Jeffrey Fritz.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 27th from 10-11 AM with services following at 11 AM all in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
