Dan and I went to school together at Emmett Belknap and LSHS. We were in homeroom together in 7th grade. He always called me "Dark Eyes". It was a sweet nickname he gave me and was only said in kindness. Only he called me that. I was flattered. He was a very good, kind man. I'm glad we were able to stay in some contact on FB. My deepest condolences to his wife, children and family. He will always be remembered and forever missed. Rest easy Dan.

Oh, Mr. Henley… Every so often I catch myself in a private laugh over something you once said and the way you’d said it in that voice of yours. I will forever be grateful for the times you let me stay at your house in my early 20s. I wish I would have stayed in touch over the last some odd years. I know you’d absolutely approve of how my little family and I are living our best lives on the west coast. I am so sorry that you had to go this early. I know you will be missed by many.
