Obituary of Nicholas Dowd

Nicholas G. "Nick" Dowd entered into rest on April 23, 2011, surrounded by the love of his family. Nick was born March 4, 1955 to Dolores (nee Zapp) and the late Nicholas Dowd. He worked for 30 years at Harrison Radiator/Delphi Thermal Systems, retiring in 2006. Nick loved his time at camp, enjoying the outdoors and playing his guitar. The love of his family and friends meant the world to him. Nick is survived by his loving wife and partner of 26 years, Darlene (Drake) Dowd. His children Kathleen A. Dowd and Nicholas R. Dowd. Grampa to Madeline O'Connell and Kaylen Dowd. Brother of Stephen Dowd, Diane (Stanley) Harzewski, Christine (Todd) Schwartz and Jeanine (Mark) Grosso. Brother in-law of Donna (David) Ray, Diane (John) Soha and Debby (David) Mullaney. Nick is predeceased by his father, Nicholas C. Dowd, in 1990. Uncle Nick will be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday 3 to 7 PM, in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will immediately follow at 7 PM.
