Obituary of Genevieve E. Nelson

Genevieve E. Nelson passed away March 26, 2022 in Northgate Manor.  Born November 23, 1933 in Medina, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Dorothy (Payne) Toussaint and step-daughter to the late Mary Toussaint.  Genevieve worked for Niagara County as a secretary at Mount View Health Care Facility and the Department of Public Works until her retirement in 1991.  She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church where she belonged to the Altar Guild and the Vestry.  Genevieve loved her family more than life itself.  She loved taking care of her family and golfing with friends.  Her family was the most important part of her life.

Genevieve was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Nelson Sr on April 11, 2007 and her brother Richard Toussaint.  She is survived by her loving son Robert J. (Diane) Nelson, Jr.; cherished grandchildren Nadine (Eric) Speer, Carly (Terry Smith) Nelson, and Robert J. (Amanda) Nelson, III; beloved great grandchildren Brock R. Speer, Natalie L. Smith, Jordan Smith, Jayden Smith, Ryan J. Nelson, and Jonathan Cifelli; sister-in-law Marion Toussaint; several nieces and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, March 31st from 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  Funeral services will be celebrated Friday, April 1st at 10 AM in Christ Episcopal Church, 7145 Fieldcrest Dr., Lockport.  Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
