Josephine Ann Sammarco went home to be with her Lord and Savior whom she loved with all her heart and soul on April 4, 2011. Born October 12, 1924 in Lockport she was the daughter of Joseph and Santa (Giuffre) Sammarco. Josephine worked as a cashier at Loblaws for 15 years, was a secretary and also in production at General Motors. She was an avid reader and was a devoted mother that immensely spent her time with her children and grandchildren. Josephine also loved to travel.
Josephine is survived by her children Donald Gary (Debbie) Ficarra, Patricia Ann (Edwin) Burrows both of Florida, JoAnn Ficarra of Lockport, Sandra Jo (Larry) Manning of Pennsylvania, Mary Beth Poole of Florida and Rita Marie (Daniel) Yousett of Lockport; grandmother of thirteen and great grandmother of three; sister of Cono (Joyce) Sammarco of Lockport, Joseph Sammarco of Syracuse, Theresa (late Richard) Blackley of Lockport, Samuel (Suzanne) Sammarco of Syracuse, Anthony Sammarco, Albert Sammarco both of Lockport and the late James Sammarco; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be celebrated Saturday April 16, 2011 at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport.
