Obituary of Santo Cardinale

Cardinale, Santo J., went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2021.  Born November 15, 1936, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania.  Son of the late Dominic and Dora (Gibino) Cardinale.  He served active duty in the US Navy from 1956-1958 followed by four years in the Naval Reserve.   Santo participated in Operation Strikeback aboard the USS Corry in the North Atlantic in 1957.  Santo worked for GM Powetrain in Tonawanda for 38 years where he was a layout inspector in the Metrology Lab.  He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.  He also loved to garden.  Santo cherished his family more than anything on earth.  Santo is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Joan (Duckett) Cardinale; children Gregory (Christine) Cardinale and Pamela (William) Nimetz, III; grandchildren Seth (Amber) Nimetz, Bethany (Vincent) Modica, William (Marissa) Nimetz, Joseph (Fiance, Kathleen) Cardinale, and Nathanael (Tessa) Nimetz; ten great grandchildren; siblings Dominic (Joanne) Cardinale and Rosalie (late Billy) Reid.  Relatives and friends may call Thursday, Dec. 9th from 4-7 p.m. at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Funeral Service will be held Friday, Dec. 10th at 10 a.m.  at Freedom Church, 5676 Beattie Ave., Lockport.  Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Park.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
