Obituary of Doloros Stinson
Doloros E. Stinson passed away on November 28, 2021 under the care of Niagara Hospice and her loving family. She was born on October 31, 1942 in Lockport, NY a daughter of the late Richard and Doris (Kane) Ruston.
Doloros worked in the cafeteria for the Lockport City School District and then was the Director of School Food Service at Niagara-Wheatfield School District. She was past president of NYS School Food Association, past Matron of Eastern Star, member of the Elks and Klub 60. She was part of the Olcott carousel fund raiser and many other fund raisers to help a good cause, a finalist for being a granny spokesperson in the Washington State Granny Smith Apple Contest. Doloros loved to go sailing and belonging to the Olcott Yacht Club, dancing, traveling, bowling but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Doloros is survived by her children Barbara Stinson, Cheryl Martin, Michael Stinson, Kevin Stinson, Christina (Jeff) Unger; grandchildren Crystal, Cody, Casey, Brandon, Allison, Paige, Joshua, Tyler, Jacob, Emma, Julia; great grandchildren Chloe, Sophia, Eryx, Bentlee; brother Charles Ruston; brother-in-law Jake Miller, sister in law Patricia ( Ret. Col. Jerry Richards); also a multitude of cousins, nieces, and nephews which she truly cherished. She was predeceased by her husband Rodney in 2018, her siblings Wilbur “Rick” Ruston, Rollin Ruston and Ruth Miller.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday December 5, 2021 from 1-5 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home 242 Genesee St. Lockport, NY where a memorial service will take place on Monday Dec. 6th at 10 AM.
