Obituary of Gail Marie Loiacano
Gail Marie (Gugliuzza) Loiacano passed into eternal life, surrounded in love by her husband and four children, on October 29, 2021. Born in Lockport, NY on October 5, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Mary (Pusateri) Gugliuzza. Gail graduated from Lockport High School in 1961 and attended NCCC. She worked as a teacher’s aide for Lockport City Schools for 8 years. Gail was a licensed electrologist. She ran her own small business from 1984 until 1992. In 1992, she retired so that she could spend time with each of her grandchildren. Gail enjoyed travel, shopping and entertaining family and friends. She especially cherished her many trips to Hilton Head Island, SC with her family. Gail was a lifelong parishioner of St Joseph’s Church. She was a religious education teacher and an active member of St Joseph’s Altar and Rosary Society and the Women’s Guild. Gail and Chuck were active in many charitable endeavors. They hosted many fundraisers for Children’s Hospital and Wyndham Lawn Home.
Gail is survived by her husband of 58 years, the love of her life, Charles J. Loiacano. They were married at St Joseph’s Church on April 20, 1963. She is survived by her children, Kim (Frank) Perilli, Kristine (Michael) LaRose, Charles R. Loiacano and Terese Loiacano and ten grandchildren who affectionately call her GG; Andrew, Tera and Adam Perilli, Jenna, Jillian and Julia LaRose, C. Mitchell and Madeline Loiacano, Joseph and Abigail Alex. Gail is also survived by her brother Ross Gugliuzza, brother-in-law Joseph (Dawn) Loiacano and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents Joseph and Lucy Pusateri and Joseph and Rose “Mama” Gugliuzza, with whom she shared a special bond. Also predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Rose Loiacano, her sister-in-law Beatrice Loiacano and several aunts and uncles.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 between 3-7pm at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at All Saint’s Parish Oratory (St Joseph’s), 391 Market Street, Lockport. In lieu of flowers, donations to John R.
