Obituary of Pearl Violet Lane
Pearl V. Lane of Pendleton formerly of Cambria, passed away October 9, 2021 under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born September 12, 1931 in Tonawanda, NY she was the daughter of Daniel and Matilda (Goceliak) Laskey. Pearl graduated from Tonawanda High School with the class of 1950, then worked for the Niagara County Water District. She volunteered with the Lockport Presbyterian Home packing meals and later for years with the Cambria Fire Hall Fish Fry’s— she was known as the “Pie Lady.” More than anything she enjoyed collecting antiques, working in the garden, and cooking for friends and family. Her greatest joys of all were her friends and loved ones.
Pearl is survived by her children Randolph (Betty) Lane and Jennifer (Lawrence) Schumacher; grandchildren Crystal, Joseph, Jessica (Corey), and Cassandra; five great grandchildren; beloved sister-in-law Rita (late William) Laskey; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Donald P. Lane in 2012 as well as two sisters and four brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation Wednesday, October 13th from 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 14th at 10 AM in Good Shepherd Parish R.C. Church, 5442 Tonawanda Creek Rd., Pendleton. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
