Dr. Ralph F. Conkling passed away March 16, 2011 in the NYS Veterans Home in Batavia. Born December 6, 1925 in Williamsville he was the son of Ralph E. and Jennie (Russo) Conkling. Ralph served in the US Marine Corp from 1944 to 1946 during WW II where he earned the rank of Private First Class. Ralph earned his PH. D. in Criminology working for the Bureau of Investigation in San Bernardino County, California. He was predeceased by his parents and his loving wife of 60 years Jean (Philipps) Conkling in 2008.
Ralph is survived by his two daughters JoAnn (Robert) Lepsch of Pembroke and Betty Mae Martin of California; grandfather of Amy, Melissa Lepsch and Andrew (Kelly) Martin; great grandfather of Taylor Martin; uncle and godfather of Debra (Richard) Corica, Rev. Daniel A. Young and Diane DiLaura.
There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 2021 Sandridge Rd., Alden. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Dr. Ralph to St. Luke's Mission, PO Box 448, Buffalo, NY 14215 would be appreciated by the family.
