Obituary of Agnes Townsend

Agnes M. Townsend passed away August 26, 2021 under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born September 22, 1944 in Lockport she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Fabian) Fura.  Agnes was a seamstress for the Western New York Blind Association in Buffalo.  She enjoyed playing the organ, sewing, listening to country music.  Her greatest joy cam from raising her children and seeing her grandchildren grow into fine adults.  She was a beautiful person and had only kind words for every person she knew.  We (her family) were blessed to have her in our lives.  She will be forever loved and missed.   Agnes was predeceased by her husband Raymond P. Townsend in 1979, two sons Paul Raymond and Tony Ray Townsend, and siblings Joseph Fura and Mary Ann (late Jose) Quintana.

Agnes is survived by her children Joseph F. (Linda) Townsend, Ray Thomas Townsend, and Tina Rae Townsend; grandchildren Angela, Amber, Amanda, Alyssa, Andrew, Raymond, Thomas, Joseph, Crystal, Jonathan, Hunter, Cherylynn, and Carissa; great grandchildren Olivia, Arya, and Toni Rae; siblings John (Jean) Fura, William (Cathy) Fura, Edward (Bruce) Fura, Catherine (late James) Behm, Nellie (late Wayne) Haseley, Christine (Carol) Fura; sister-in-law Linda Fura; also several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, August 29^th from 2-5 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 30^th at 10 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport.  Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
