Obituary of James Foltz

James B. Foltz, Sr. passed away August 21, 2009 in Absolut at Gasport Health Care Facility surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Born December 2, 1940 in Lockport he was the son of Roger and Florence (Bell) Foltz. James served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1961. He worked for 10 years at Simmonds Saw & Steel before working at Harrison Radiator in production for 28 years retiring in 1998. James was a member of the Navy/Marine Club, Knights of Columbus Council 319, was a devoted supporter of the Fatima Shrine, volunteered at the Sr. Helen Food Pantry and the Hartland Conservation Club. He enjoyed horses, gardening and was an avid sportsman.
James is survived by his wife of 45 years Patricia (Morello) Foltz of Lockport; father of James Foltz, Jr., Deborah Ann Foltz and Raymond Foltz all of Lockport; grandfather of Amanda, Justin, Derek, Nicholas, Zachary, Emily, Jeremy and Jacob Foltz; brother of Roger Foltz of Mentor, OH, Patricia (Albert) Gritzmacher of Lockport, Frances (Paul) Kane of Washington DC and the late John and Thomas Foltz; also survived by several nieces and nephews. James was the dear friend of Carol Barnette, Bill Stockton, Paul Wheat, Bud Turner and Jim Artieri.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayers will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family. James loved and cherished every moment he had with his grandchildren.
