Prior to that he was a painter and paper hanger with many of the homes in Lockport benefitting from his skills and quality workmanship. Richard spent many years as an active photo enthusiast in the Lockport camera club, and was an accomplished artist with many of his oil paintings and water colors hanging throughout Lockport and beyond.  Dick was a member of the Lockport Art Guild and Elks Club, as well as the Dale Association. A lifelong devoted but frustrated Sabres and Bills fan, Dick also thoroughly enjoyed his card days with many, and in later years looked forward to Cribbage and Bid Pitch day at the Elks club and Senior Center with his fellow friends and competitors.
