Norman R. Capell, of Lockport, passed away March 8, 2011 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Royalton on January 30, 1917 he was the son of Raymond and Ruth (Osmond) Capell. He was a graduate from Barker High School in 1936 and worked at Lockport Felt retiring in 1982 after 26 years and served as a Town of Somerset Assessor for 16 years. Norman was a lifetime member of the Barker Lion's Club, serving five years as treasurer, was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he formerly served as a trustee. Norman is survived by his wife Evelyn (Behm) Capell whom he married August 9, 1941; father of Pamela (Peerce Lake) Harper of Florida and Douglas (Sue) Capell of Gasport; grandfather of Matthew of Pennsylvania and Maggie of Gasport; best buddy Shadow. He was predeceased by twin sons David and Dale Capell and his son-in-law Stanley Harper. There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at later date. Donations to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Barker's Lions Club would be appreciated.
