Obituary of Mary Anna Bishop
Mary Anna Bishop, 94 years old, entered into eternal rest peacefully on June 28, 2021 at Elderwood at Lockport Nursing Home where she had resided for the past year. Prior to Elderwood she lived several years at the Presbyterian Home after moving from her beloved residence on Vine St. near Lowertown. Mary Anna was born in Lockport March 31, 1927 to Ralph S. and Doris (Randall) Bishop. She was employed by the Niagara Textile, W.T. Grant Department store and retired from M&T bank. Mary Anna loved to travel, talk Lockport history and spend time with family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother Ralph A. and his wife Jeanie.
Mary Anna is survived by her brother John and his wife Marilyn in Cincinnati Ohio; nephew Matthew (Barbara) in North Syracuse, niece Nora Bruning (late Howard) in Lockport and nephew Thomas in Hilton. Also survived by niece Peggy (Bill) Cotter, nephew Greg (Julie) Bishop, nephew Stephen Bishop and niece Katherine (John) Young. Also survived by great-nephews Thomas-Earl (Grace Moser) Beiter, Matthew L Bishop,and Justin (Krista) Bishop; great nieces Denyel (Patrick) Doty, Caileigh Bishop, Holly Bishop, Emily Bishop, Nicole Bishop; and great-great nephew Benjamin Doty.
The family would like to thank the staffs at Elderwood and The Presbyterian Home for their care of Mary Anna.
Relatives and friends may call Friday July 2, 2021 4pm-7pm, Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 3rd at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family gratefully requests you make a donation to a charity of your choice in Mary Anna’s name.
