Obituary of James C. Acord
James C. Acord passed away on Friday May 14, 2021. Born in Glen Fork, WV, on March 23, 1937, he was the son of the late Clayton and Ollie Sanders Acord. James retired from GM Powertrain in Tonawanda, where he worked as a millwright. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid hunter, woodworking, working on heavy equipment and spending time in the Southern Tier. He was a race car driver (wild rebel) at Niagara Drag Strip back in the day.
James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sally (nee Arber) Acord, his daughters, Sherry (Donald) Mahar and Deborah (Adam) Nucci. He was the grandfather of Olivia and Joshua Mahar and Natalie and Braden Nucci. James is also survived by his siblings Glenna (late Elwood) Powers and William (Susan) Acord and several nieces and nephews.
