They say you can tell a lot about the quality of a man by the strength of his handshake, so it's no surprise John had the greatest of them all. He was a tremendous soul, a true country gentleman and willing to do whatever he could to help anyone in need. He fit right into our family and his loss will be forever felt.

There aren't many words I can say that others won't have already attributed, regardless John is worthy of them all so I'll say them again. John truly was a great man, and someone who was exactly what a family needed at their most. He worked every day to the bone and never asked for himself, instead welcomed a whole new family with open arms and with all the love he had. John was a great guy to just sit down with and spend some time with at every family function, we always looked forward to having him. I will truly miss John and all he brought to such a loving family that I know truly appreciated him and everything he did.

Dearest Mary, Elizabeth, Michael, Joseph, & Thomas,
I want you to know that John was well loved and respected by everyone in our family... for his outstanding moral character, western manners, quiet humbleness, genuine helpfulness, and courteous kindness. I remember when you all first moved here from Kansas and what a challenging adjustment it was for John...to come to a place full of hurried people, rude mannerisms, and a not so relaxed environment; it was literally a "culture shock" for him. He somehow acclimated and maintained his loving, caring devotion as well as dedication to you and our entire family. I enjoyed his clever witty humor, passion for reading, and sincere love of you, Mary, and your children for the past twelve years. He was an invaluable help to mom and dad in so many, many ways, and he adored grandma (the feeling was mutual). A funny memory is that John "loved" how I pulled rapidly and abrubtly into your driveway and he would announce, "Steph's here!!". Lol. I want to remember him for ALL he did and for ALL he was for your family, Mary, and for all of us. He was my brother!!! His sacrifices were always appreciated and endlessly admired by so many in his life. John was a TRUE cowboy, gentleman, hard-worker, and family man...aspects of an outstanding man whom will be extraordinarily missed.
Love, Stephanie, Michael, Aaron, Marissa, & David

John will be missed and remembered by my entire family and his bloodline will carry on through our son and grandchildren. RIP “Jiffy Jeff!” (I’ve tried to share a memory several times but it didn’t appear to go through. Hoping I’m not duplicating this) my prayers to John’s family in Kansas and in New York.

There are no words we can offer to ease your pain. We loved John so very much. He was a kind and caring man-one of the good guys. You were truly meant for each other and one day you will be together again. Hold tight to your memories of the man who loved you unconditionally, supported your every venture, never doubted and always appreciated the amazing life you and the kids gave him. We will miss his cowboy ways, his big bear hugs, gentle kind eyes and his unwavering loyalty to our family. May you be wrapped in the warmth of his love now and forever. Love you all-Kris and Mark
