Obituary of Dorothy McIntyre

Dorothy Letitia (nee Clugston) McIntyre passed away February 25, 2011 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Newfane. Born February 11, 1915 in Lockport, New York, the daughter of William and Rebecca (Blasing) Clugston. She and her husband, the late Oscar N. McIntyre owned and operated Mac's Market grocery stores in Lockport for nearly 40 years. Dorothy is survived by her children William (Ella), Barbara Sheehan of Olcott, Robert of Long Beach, California, James (Jean) of Waterville, Maine, John (Beverly) of North Tonawanda and Douglas of Lockport. She had nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Florence West, brothers Harold and Kenneth Clugston and dear friend Herbert Hobbs.
A lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, Dorothy was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the American Red Cross and Lockport Memorial Hospital. She was an avid Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan and loved caring for her flowers and sitting on the front porch of her home on Cleveland Place where she resided for 63 years.
