Joan was my very first boss in 1977. Right out of high school, I was a young, naive and rebellious nurses aide, who had a lot to learn. Under the care of both Joan and Jim, they became a stepping stone for where and what I am today, that is, working still as a nursing assistant 44 years later. Joan, you were an angel then and now you are God's angel. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those who loved her.

So sorry to Jim and family for the loss of Joan. Jim and Joan were FL neighbors and friends to my parents, Lee and Carol Dunbar. They were so supportive and helpful to my parents especially in my dad's latter yrs of Parkinson's. As a retired nurse myself, I recognized Joan's tendency to be concerned for others' health sometimes over her own struggles. She had a great sense of humor too. I miss having dinner with Jim and Joan and my parents at the Bradenton Goeckos, even though it was sometimes so loud in there we could hardly hear each other. Joan even worried and cared about my parent's cats even though she was not a cat person herself. Joan was easy to talk with and even though she worried about others she stayed positive. After leaving FL, Joan and Jim and my mom kept in contact. I so appreciated their friendship with my parents. Joan will be greatly missed, but she will forever be in our hearts. My thoughts and prayers to all her family and friends. With love, Cheri DeMarco

Joan was a kind and compassionate lady who loved her family beyond measure. I feel fortunate to have had the privilege of knowing her. She lived her life always caring and doing for others. I know for sure when she met God face to face He welcomed her into His Kingdom saying “Job well done my faithful servant....job well done”. Jim and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
