Obituary of Marilyn J. Roenish

Marilyn J. Roenish (nee VanDusen) died February 26, 2021.  She was born in Lockport March 26, 1936 to Harold and Mildred VanDusen. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Benjamin Roenish; sisters Jean Gilling’s, Joan Rhinehart and Marcia Williamson. Marilyn is survived by her children Lewis (Kathy) Kane, Pamela (Gary) Lipperman, and Karen Kane; brother-in-law, Dr. John Williamson; 5 grandchildren, Laura Kane,  Douglas (Kellena) Kane, Dana (Judd) Lipperman, Megan (Derek) Kane and Tyler (Erin) Lipperman; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren, many beloved nieces, and nephews.

Marilyn graduated from Wilson Central School in 1953 and was the treasurer of the reunion committee for many years.  She initiated the Cambria Mothers Club in the 1950’s.  Marilyn was a clerk for the Niagara County Court System for 25 years, retiring in 1992.  In 1980 she joined Eastern Star and was a member of the Angelus Chapter #559, serving as Matron, Trustee and Secretary.  This also included a Grand Chapter Office serving the State as a District Deputy Grand Matron and member of Necrology.

Marilyn was known for her wonderful smile and infectious laugh.  She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, going to the casino, and spending time with her family. 

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
