Obituary of Michael J. Daskavitz

Michael Daskavitz entered into rest on January 28, 2021 in his hometown of Lockport, NY.  Born October 1, 1939, he was the son of Dmytro (Michael) and Mary Daskavitz.  Michael served in the National Guard and worked at Harrison Radiator Div of General Motors where he was an engineer, who retired in 1998 after 36 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting.  Michael was married to Dorothy (Baer) Daskavitz, his high school sweetheart for 57 years.  He was predeceased by her on May 14, 2020.

Michael is survived by his children Jon (Lynn) Daskavitz, Marc Daskavitz, and Donna (Michael) Maggio; grandchildren Michael, Steven, and Kevin Daskavitz, Matthew and Nathan Maggio; sisters Anne (Lou) Valery and Esther Owens; sister-in-law Barbara Daskavitz; also several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his siblings Joseph, George, and MaryCatherine Daskavitz.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, January 31st from 1-3 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 1st at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.  Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
