Obituary of Charles Scharlau
Charles Scharlau passed away January 25, 2021 in Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston. Born March 23, 1936 in Somerset, NY he was the son of Clarence and Laura Scharlau. He graduated from Baker Central School and was captain of the football team and prom king. Charles was a construction worker for Local 91 in Niagara Falls where he worked for Scufari Construction until his retirement. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and was a long time season ticket holder and also enjoyed classic movies. Charles was predeceased by his wife Patricia (Berndt) Wolcott Scharlau on July 8, 2013.
Charles is survived by his two sons Thomas (Rena) and Todd (Elizabeth); grandchildren Derek and Autumn Tower, Diana Corcorane, Kevin Scharlau, and Shawna McNaughton; seven great grandchildren; sister Ruth Ann (William) Crawshaw.
