Obituary of Gig Goldstein
Mark "Gig" Goldstein passed away November 22, 2020 at home surrounded by his adoring family after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.
Gig was born April 1, 1957 in Buffalo, NY to the late Rudolph and Renate Goldstein. He worked for the Town of Lockport Highway Department, retiring in 2013 after 30 years. Gig was an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his free time camping, hunting, and fly-fishing. He was an exceptional artist, creating beautiful, realistic wood carvings for which he won awards. Gig was a wonderful story-teller, witty, and full of life. He never thought twice about helping others. His friends and family will miss everything about his dynamic character immensely.
Gig is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sarah "Din" Goldstein, his children, Justin (Amanda) Goldstein, and Lydia (Martin) Bielicki, and his cherished granddaughters, Madelyn and Audrey Bielicki. He is also survived by two brothers, Michael Goldstein and Douglas (Dori) Goldstein, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
