Obituary of Barbara Lou Minarcik
Barbara Lou Minarcik passed away on Saturday September 26, 2020 at Eastern Niagara Hospital. Born in New York City on May 9,1940, she was the daughter of the late Elbert John and Hazel Wicks Minarcik. Barbara graduated from Queens School of Nursing and attended Marymount Manhattan College. She went on to work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as an oncology specialist RN for 30 years, retiring in 1998.
After Barbara retired she moved to NJ and took care of her parents until their deaths. She moved to Lockport in 2008 to be closer to family. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and the Lockport United Church of Christ. Barbara enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, her community activities and traveling.
Barbara is survived by her siblings, Alan (Clare) Minarcik and Kathi (Frank) Ogoreuc; three nieces, two nephews, three great nieces and 4 great nephews.
