So sorry to see Doug’s passing so long after he died. We were in school together at Letchworth Central. Always excitement when Doug was there. A fun friend! I did a lot of typing for him in class.
With deepest sympathy, Kate (Cathy) Kingsley. Geneseo NY.

So sad to hear of Doug's passing. Met Doug thru NFNY HOG and travels to Washington over the years on Memorial Day. Always enjoyed visiting with him whenever we met. Knew he had health issues but he took it all in stride. Will miss him as the future unfolds. From Canada so unable to attend celebration.of Doug's life. Deepest sympathy to family, and lived ones...

This pic is for you Amy. I discovered it in a box of misc pictures. A beautiful pic of father and daughter. Jennifer and I send our love and condolences to you and Todd and all your children. Looking at facebook pics of your Dad with you kids and your families, his deep love for you all is undeniably evident. Jennifer and I pray that love lifts and consoles you all in the days, month's and years ahead. Your Dad helped raise two strong, beautiful and intelligent humans and from what I can tell, you both have passed those traits to your children. Our prayer for you all in this time of mourning is that you may find and know everlasting Peace. Love to you all. Godbless!

Douglas Chapman... When I was thirteen I looked to Doug as a big brother. He'd occasional send me a post card and pictures from Germany when he was in the service. I still have one of those cards and a couple of pics. Some may ask "why would I still have these tucked away at age 65"? Well, when someone crosses your path in life that leaves a positive lasting impression, you never forget and always cherish those memories. Here's a pic of one of those post cards and one of Doug home on leave.
...I know you're riding with the Angels now Doug...

I am proud to call Doug "Friend". I knew every time he came through the door at Open Arms I could count on a warm handshake, a good laugh and we shared a lot of those over the years, and some life affirming conversation for the few moments we talked. Doug loved life, Anita, his grand kids, riding. I will miss my Friend as will we all. Our world just grew a little bit dimmer . . . .
