Obituary of Elizabeth L. Anderson

Elizabeth Britt Anderson passed away peacefully on June 30  ,2020, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on Sept. 20, 1935, at the family's home on the Drum Road in Middleport, NY. She was the daughter of loving parents Thomas and Frances (Budynski) Britt. 
 
Betty married the love of her life, Robert K. Anderson, on Feb. 11, 1956. She is the beloved mother of Mary (Walter) Piatkowski; Stephen (Kathy) Anderson; James (Pauline) Anderson; all of Lockport; Laura (Richard) Kent of Georgia; and Karen (Mark) Cooper of Ohio. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert and infant son Robbie, as well as her four siblings: Marcia Porter; Mary (John) Forsyth; Frank (Lucielle) Britt; and William (Diane) Britt.
 
Betty graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1952 and Sisters of Charity Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She worked at St. Clare Manor in Lockport for 24 years. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, gardening, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. Betty enjoyed talking about growing up on her family's farm in Newfane and attending the one-room school next door. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren: Walter Piatkowski, Stacy (Brian) Hoffman, and Andrew Piatkowski; Brittany (Mitchell) Harrer, Megan (John) Kowalski, James (Shelby), Kayla, and Hannah Anderson; Matthew and Kristen Kent; Robert (Alyssa), Kathleen, and Ryan Cooper; and John (Erin) and Joshua Anderson; as well as her great-grandchildren: Kelly, Kyle, and Jacob Hoffman; Charlotte Harrer; Genevieve Kowalski; Ella and Lucy Anderson; and Quinn Southwell.
 
No memorial service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's name to the Sisters of Charity Hospital,Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Foundation  ,2157 Main Street,  Buffalo NY 14214
