Obituary of Albert Ribbeck

Albert R. Ribbeck passed away January 22, 2011 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born August 29, 1930 in Royalton he was the son of Richard and Lillian May (Glena) Ribbeck. Albert served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, and the United Nations Service Medal. Albert worked for 38 years at Harrison Radiator in production. He loved traveling, camping and playing cards.
Albert is survived by his wife of 60 years Evelyn (Smith) Ribbeck; father of Steven (Mary Lou), Sandra (Ricky) Corona, John Ribbeck, and Jeanne (Robert) Saylor; grandfather of Shannon, Kortney, and Amanda Ribbeck, Benjamin DeCaire, Steven, and Alex Wittren, Christopher, Matthew, and Fredrick Kaufman; great grandfather of 6. He is survived by one brother Arthur Ribbeck, and a sister Bernice (late George) Dinsdale. Predeceased by his brother Lester, and sisters Jayne Barnard, and Irene Thompson. Survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services to be held Wednesday at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 6965 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Lockport, at 10AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Please visit www.pruddenandkandt.com to leave an online condolence to the family.
