James C. "Jim" White passed away January 21, 2011 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Newfane. Born November 12, 1926 in Lockport he was the son of James C. and Naomi (Schad) White. Jim served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946 during WW II serving on the destroyer escort, USS Jobb in the North Atlantic and South Pacific. He was awarded two bronze stars one for the Asiatic Pacific Star and the other for the Philippine Liberation Star. Jim owned and operated Snedekers Meat Market for 45 years closing in 1995. Jim was a member of the VFW, American legion, Navy Marine Club, Elks Club and the AOH of which he was also a past president. He enjoyed spending time at his lake home, playing cards and watching sports.
Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years Gloria ((Wilson) White of Lockport whom he married on February 26, 1949; father of Carol (Thom) Malloy, James Daniel White, Sue White, JoAnn (Doug) Toussaint, Deb White, Kathi (Randy) Thiel, Mark (Patty) White all of Lockport; grandfather of Colleen (Michael) Schultz, James, Jack, Krista, and Joel White, Adam and Brittany White, Tiffany Toussaint and Brianna (Andrew) Hallnan; also survived by several great grandchildren, his aunt Lucille Magnan and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Naomi Cascia, Barbara White and Mary McDonald, daughter-in-law Jane White and grandson Troy Toussaint.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayers will be offered Wednesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 5500 Main St., Williamsville, NY 14221 or the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Pkwy., Amherst, NY 14228 would be appreciated by the family

Prayers will be at the offered Wednesday at 9:30 AM, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.
<h3>Interment</h3>
Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
