Obituary of Robert F. Schafsteck
Robert F. Schafsteck passed away on June 4, 2020. He was born on February 6, 1932 in Buffalo, NY a son of Frank and Leona (Smith) Schafsteck.
Bob proudly served in The Army National Guard full time for 42 years as a technician and a federal liaison, retiring as a Master Sargent. He played clarinet in the National Guard Band. Bob was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed history, making wooden models, reading and watching football.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years Rachel (Walker) Schafsteck; children Gretchen (Duane) Hasley, Kurt (Ramona) Schafsteck, Kay Jones, Jan (Dave) Johnson, Jill (Tim) Ingalsbe, Gayle Corey; 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by several siblings.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Rapids Volunteer Fire Company 6131 Old Beattie Rd. Lockport, NY 14094.
