Obituary of John Root

John Matthew Root passed away January 20, 2011 in Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Born July 28, 1962 in Lockport he is the son of Duane and Rita (Mangan) Root of Lockport. John was a dayhab manager for Community Service for Developmentally Disabled, Lackawana. An accomplished guitarist he played in several groups throughout WNY. Besides his parents John is also survived by his wife Judy (Dodge) Root of Hamburg; brother of Paul Root of Lockport, Sharon Root of Decatur, IL, Craig (Anjanette) Root of Williamsville, Crysta (Allan) Booth of Lockport, Kyle Root of Leland, NC, Jessie (Vincent) Bordeau of Wichita, KS and Blaine Root of Rochester, NY; grandson of Beatrice Mangan; nephew of Sharon (Donald) Cleveland of Newfane, Patricia Dearborn of Lockport and Lawrence (Joyce) Root of Victor, NY; also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and Friends may call Saturday 4-7 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., where funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 PM. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
