Herbert W. Matheis passed away April 23, 2020 in Elderwood at Williamsville. Born October 23, 1922 in Getzville he was the son of Jacob and Mary (Tropert) Matheis. Herbert served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 during WW II being awarded the EAME Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the WW II Victory Medal. He worked for Kendall Refining Co. in Lockport for 38 years where he was a service manager.
Herbert is survived by his wife of 73 years Gertrude (Krull) Matheis; sons Robert (Naomi) Matheis and Kenneth (Sandy) Matheis; grandchildren Robert (Bianca) Matheis Jr., Phillip Matheia, and Susan Matheis; sister-in-law Helen (late Frank) Loiars and Dorothy Bald; also several nieces and nephews.
Private services were held. Interment was in White Chapel Memorial Park.
