Obituary of Robert Strong

Robert W. Strong, age 88, passed away January 10, 2011 at home surrounded by family under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Lockport June 5, 1922, he was the son of Frederick W. and Kathryn (Rapp) Strong. Robert served in the US Navy during WW II in the Pacific Theatre from 1942 to 1945. He worked for the United States Postal Service retiring in 1989 after 35 years of service. Robert was a member of the VFW and the B. Leo Dolan American Legion Post #410. He enjoyed sports, gardening and reading.
Robert is survived by his wife Anna L. (Rinaldo) Strong; father of Joseph (Mary) Strong, Elizabeth Roberts, Jane (David) Weber, Mary K. (Bruce) March, Sheila (Terry) Reagan, Michael (April) Strong and Jeffrey (Laura) Strong; grandfather of Jerrod, Lezlie, Erin, Bryan, Katie, Stephanie, Michael, Alexis, Brianna, Anthony, and Grace; brother of the late Jane (Henry) Gagliardi and Frederick (Eileen) Strong; several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 76 Church St., Lockport. Inurnment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated.
