Gerald Earl Bull, 92, died peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Born May 20, 1927 to Earl Hoffman Bull and Dorothy (Rankie) Bull, stepson of Floyd Joshua Rockwood. He graduated from Lockport High School in 1944. He served in the Army from 1945-1947 as a tech 4th grade, serving for ten months in Occupied Japan, receiving the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War ll Victory Medal. He was a charter member and proud exempt member of South Lockport Volunteer Fire Company, having served as assistant fire chief and fire chief. He worked for the Town of Lockport Highway Dept. retiring in 1984 as a mechanic and motor equipment operator. Devoted husband of the late Joyce (Toenniessen) Bull, married June 19, 1948 at First English Lutheran Church, Lockport where he was a member. He built their first house and worked diligently on updating their second house. He could build and fix anything. Past member of the Town of Lockport Historical Society, he was interested and knowledgeable about local history. He was known for his abundant gardens and his love of hunting and fishing. Past active in Wrights Corners Boy Scouts. Woodworking became his hobby in retirement. Survived by four children: Linda Stevens, Donna Macaluso, both of Lockport, Richard (Sheila) Bull of Middleport and Gary (Diane) Bull of Allegany, Also six beloved grandchildren, five great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren. Also survived by a sister, Geraldine Luckman, nieces, nephews and dear cousins. Interment will be at North Ridge Cemetery for family. Memorial donations to the South Lockport Volunteer Fire Company Exempts, 5666 S. Transit Road, Lockport 14094 or Town of Lockport Historical Society, 6560 Dysinger Road, Lockport, NY 14094.
