John (Jay) Ahlstrom Jr. passed away on March 4, 2020. He was born March 1, 1973 in Buffalo NY, the son of John Ahlstrom Sr. and Barbara (Meyers) Ahlstrom. Jay and his wife Jennifer shared a love that inspired everyone who had the privilege to witness it over the nearly 30 years they shared together. He was a fiercely loyal friend, a talented cook, and an inquisitive mind who never stopped learning. Jay was a bright light in every room he entered, making people laugh and entertaining with his beautiful voice and approachable manner. Jay was a gifted plumber, a founding member of Towlson Plumbing and Heating who was routinely counted on to create elegant solutions to the most complex new construction challenges. He had an innate talent for design, mathematics and connecting with colleagues and clients. Jay is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer (Ryan) Ahlstrom, father John Ahlstrom Sr., sister Carolyn (Justin) Pilarcik, nieces Eleanor and Audrey Pilarcik. He is also survived by aunt and uncle Janet and Dennis Badame, aunt Marilee Meyers, and cousins Jennifer (Dan) Courtright, Carrie (John) Vieceli, Erin Badame, Megan (Travis) Griffin, Meredith (Don) Meyers, and a multitude of friends. Jay was predeceased by his mother Barbara, and his beloved dogs Arnold and Phoebe. Relatives and friends may call Friday, March 6th from 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 7th at 11:30 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Countryside Veterinary Clinic Emergency Fund.
