Obituary of Jeffrey Joseph Newman Jr.

Jeffrey Joseph “JJ” Newman Jr. passed away Saturday February 22, 2020. JJ was kind, a hard worker, and a dreamer. Most of all, he was a kid at heart. He loved watching cartoons, and playing with his niece and nephews. Often, you would find action figures in his pockets. When JJ was around, everyone knew they were going to laugh harder than they had in a while. Born in Newfane, NY on March 22, 1990, JJ was the son of Jennifer (William) D’Alessandro and Jeffrey J. (Traci) Newman Sr. He was adored by his siblings Laura (Robert) Przybysz, William (Lauren Woomer) D’Alessandro, Andrew (Caitie) Newman, Elijah Buongiorne, Ryan Haner, Lyndie Newman, and William Newman; and was the loving uncle of Nolan Przybysz, and Rory and Jack Newman. JJ is also survived by his grandmothers, Mildred “Mickey” Kramp and Gaymarie Sparrer, great-grandparents James (Nelly) Haight and several aunts, uncles and cousins. JJ struggled with drug addiction for most of his adult life. He did go to treatment, and at one point he was successfully sober for 18 wonderful months. Even after his relapse, there were many periods of clarity in the midst of active drug use. We will be forever grateful for those moments. JJ was deeply loved by everyone in his life. His absence has created a gaping hole that will forever remain. Friends may call on Tuesday February, 25, 2020 from 4pm – 7pm at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, NY. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday February 26, 2020 at 11am at Northgate Christian Community, 5225 Harris Hill Rd, Buffalo, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to Save the Michaels of the World, an organization created to support families and their loved ones battling addiction.
