Beloved husband, father, papa & great papa B, Edson A. Bailey of Lockport, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 12, 2020, while visiting family in Saginaw, MI. He was born in Hartland, NY on January 11th, 1935; the son of the late Joseph and Adeline Eisenhauer Bailey. Ed graduated from Lockport High School, attended Erie County Technical Institute, and worked at Harrison Radiator, with a career spanning over four decades.
Ed met the love of his life, Jean Morehouse and was happily married for 59 years. She proceeded him in death on October 12, 2015. They were the best of friends and loved camping and traveling from the Hawaiian Islands to the coast of Maine. He will be long remembered for his boisterous laugh that filled a room, sharing his expertise of tinkering with those in need and his late night poker games.
Ed loved watching his Buffalo Bills & Buffalo Sabres, was an avid Nascar and dirt track fan, a connoisseur of chicken wings and loved spending his winters in Florida with friends and family.
Ed had a deep love of family and many true friendships. Ed is survived by his children Donna Reineke (Mark) of Houston, Texas, Mark Bailey (Wendy) of Saginaw, MI. Treasured grandchildren, Nicole (Art); Heather (Adam); Jessica (Kevin); Melissa; Mark. Also survived by 3 cherished great grandchildren, Ethan, Everly & Carson. Brother Charles Bailey, Sister in-law Patricia Krentz, Brother in-law Glenn Shaffer, predeceased by sister, Louise & brother, James. Survivors also include one uncle and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many true friends.
A memorial service will be held in the spring to celebrate Dad’s zest for life. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a charity of their choice in Dad’s name.
