Obituary of Joan R. Costello

Joan Russell Costello passed away January 23, 2020 in Niagara Hospice House. Born April 12, 1930 in Lockport she was the daughter of Alfred B. and Lorraine (Johnston) Russell. She was predeceased by her husband Donald J. Costello in 1989. Joan is survived by her eight sons Thomas (Tammy Weir) Costello, Timothy (Liz) Costello, Mark (Mary) Costello, D. James Swing, Dinah Swing, Kevin (Joanie) Costello, Daniel (Julie) Costello, Brian (Mary Jo) Costello, and Michael Costello; grandchildren Shawn (Lynne) Costello, Shannon (Geoff) Volland, Adam Costello, Christopher Costello, Katelyn Costello, Timothy (Kelsey)Costello, Joshua Walker, Chaelon(Liza) Costello, Emily (Adam) Crissman, Erin Costello, the late Erica Marie Costello, Amanda (Tom) Stahl, William Costello, Zachary Costello (Justine Battaglia), Cassandra “CC” Costello, Sara Costello, Kevin Costello, and Alyssa Costello; nine great grandchildren Brady, Grace and Nora Crissman, Morgan Costello, Alivia and Madelyn Volland, Riley Costello , Hannah and Zane Stahl. Siblings Kathleen (the late Raymond) Navarre, sister-in-law Mary Russell, and the late Eugene “Rip” Russell, Rev. Alfred Russel, OSFS, and Sr. Judy Russel, SMNM; also survived by her niece Kathleen(Charlie) Burt, and nephews Robert (Patricia) Russell, William(Cindy) Russell, Richard (Margaret) Russell. Also survived by her dear friend Carol Griesser. Relatives and friends may call Monday, Jan. 27th from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 28th at 11 AM in All Saints RC Church, 76 Church St., Lockport. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Niagara Hospice or St Jude Children’s Hospital .
