William R. Thomas passed away suddenly on January 15, 2020. Bill was born on February 14, 1934 in Schuyler, Virginia a son of Herbert and Annie (Craig) Thomas.
He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 during the Korean Conflict. Bill was in the printing business for 20 years then became a postal carrier in Bakersfield, California for 20 years retiring in 1998. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Taft, California. Bill enjoyed reading the newspaper and the bible but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife Linda (Ewan) Thomas, his children Eric Scott Thomas, Jennifer Robin (Bruce) Gruber, Alex Martin Baxter, Paul Eugene Baxter, grandchildren Christian Austin Baxter, Sarah Lorraine Baxter, Noah Jacob Baxter, Hannah Marie Baxter, great grandchildren Isabel Rose Baxter, Skyla Rose Scheib, sister Tensie (Daniel) Crouse.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
